Southwest Elementary is a PreK - 5th grade elementary school with a student population of 275.  Southwest Elementary has the following weekly activities for students:  computer lab, library classes, music classes, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math), and P.E.  Students in grades 2-5 may participate in basketball, and girls in grades 3-5 may try out for cheerleading. We will be adding a flag football team this spring (more information to come). Southwest Elementary also has a Student Council (voted on by the student body in grades 3-5) and a Junior Beta Club (membership by invitation only).  Southwest Elementary offers a before and after school enrichment program through a grant by the Tennessee Department of Education - Beyond the Bell.  This program is free to students and includes an afternoon snack and afternoon bus transportation. Our theme this year is "The Magic School Year!!"
